1. Silent On Power Up - Disk Not Spinning

Frequent problem or trouble we see is that the drive remains silent when powered up. Possibly smell of burning from the pcb / electronics board. You can sometimes see charred or burnt components or chips on the circuit board. There is no sound and it may shut down the computer it is connected to - ie not allow it to boot up. Seagate external drives often have accidentally connected incorrect power supply or laptop power supply. The accident causes over-voltage and failure of drive to spin up when turned on.


2. Difficulty Reading Data From Seagate SATA Drive
